Macy's Termite & Pest Control Company works with Sarasota County leadership Macy's enjoyed the privilege of meeting with Sarasota County's scientists, pest control program leadership, and leading environmental groups on Friday, November 6th to discuss ways to ensure that the County's efforts in green pest management incorporates the latest state of the art products and treatment methods to protect public health. Dean Burnside, Owner of Macy's states: "Macy's has taken the initiative to design green programs since early 2006, well ahead of national trends and our competition. Being recognized as the Green Business of the Year and Reader's Choice of Best Pest Control Service only reinforces that we are doing the right thing." Using the least toxic methods for treatment available, Macy's has been successful in controlling pests and limiting exposure to harmful pesticides in the homes of thousands of tri-county area residents. In attendance were: Dr. Eric Shrieber (Sarasota County), Ann Mason (pioneer of the state chemically sensitive registry), Mike Holsinger (Retired Sarasota County Agricultural Director), Ray Parsons, (Retired Sarasota County Mosquito Control Director), and Dr. Rich Pierce (Mote Marine Laboratories). Macy's Business Manager, John Komor says, "Insect control is vital to be able to inhabit Florida and programs like ours allow guaranteed pest-free living at a reasonable price using botanicals, naturally occurring, and reduced-risk products in lieu of harsh chemicals in your home." Truly a new era of cooperation has begun. |
